One aspect of the program that I did find let it down a bit was the mis identification of the fish species shown in the program . Tilapia were shown swimming around the submerged huts not carp and the predatory fish shown in the same clip was an African Pike not a Tigerfish as stated. This may seem like nit picking but it's no different that confusing say a lion for a leopard and in this day and age when worldwide our fish stocks are under so much pressure it's worrying that even the BBC don't find it important enough to research fish species. As anglers have always thought no one but anglers seem to care much about fish, a case of out of sight out of mind. Just incase anyone from the BBC ever sees this blog here a picture of a nice TIGERFISH I caught from the Zambezi.
Last night on iplayer I watched the BBC's natural world "Zambezi". As usual for a BBC wildlife program it was beautifully shot and brought back many memories for me. I've fished the lower Zambezi on three occasions and I have to say it's right up their with some of the best wildlife locations in the world.
